We were greeted by Martin who was very friendly and went through all of the information we needed for our stay.The room was tastefully decorated and the furniture/furnishings were modern and in good condition.It had a decent sized en-suite shower room with hand basin and toilet and the water was always nice and hot (after running it for a minute or so to get it to the correct temperature, of course).A hairdryer and kettle were in the room with ample tea bags and sachets of coffee and sugar etc.The bar was bigger than we’d expected and had everything you need from a bar.It was clean and comfortable and had a good selection of spirits, beers and wines.The hotel is within walking distance of the town centre, many takeaways and restaurants the Savoy cinema, a college and the Guildhall Arts Centre is literally a two minute walk away.I can fault nothing.Great value for money.

This is a great hotel with clean, well equipped rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, excellent food with plenty of choice and a carpark in the centre of Grantham.It's close to pubs and restaurants, (although its own bar serves excellent food at very reasonable prices), as well as shops andcinema. Also the Grantham Museum is close by and well worth a visit.It is not very from the railway station either. All in all a great location.

The hotel is in a great location with parking at the rear. The room was clean with 2 3/4 beds and had a good shower/en suite with clean towels. There was a kettle and tea/coffee provided. The owner was very friendly and check in and out was easy. I would definitely stay again if we returned to Grantham.

Overall his stay was great, but was advised the heating only goes on at a certain time and would make plans to be elsewhere during the day whilst the heating wasn’t on as it was too cold to stay in the room, then the heating would be on from 3pm for a while and would be too hot to go to sleep and then when he wakes up was cold but overall clean and tidy plus friendly staff.

This hotel was a really great find for me and I would be more than happy to recommend to anyone. Staff were very friendly, chatty and welcoming. Car parking at the rear an absolute bonus. Clean fresh beds, accessible to high street and a lovely breakfast. I think it's the first time anyone has said "Are you sure you have enough?". Reasonable prices and layout of the building well explained prior to. Thank you for a lovely couple of days and hope I see you again, maybe same time next year.

We stayed at the Avenue due 2 visiting friends we were upgraded when we got there. The location is very good 3 min walk to centre. The room was clean a decent size nice and quiet just very basic but u get what u say for. Only negative feedback is plaster was crumbling on ceiling in room we was in (room5). I’ve been exploring accommodations in Grantham and discovered the Avenue Hotel. The rooms are excellent: very clean, with comfy beds, and both WiFi and TV are available. The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed at the Avenue Hotel on three occasions already and have booked several more stays due to a course I’m attending. If you’re looking for a nice, quiet place to stay, I highly recommend them. They have a bar downstairs, which is a great benefit after a long day at work or training. The hotel is conveniently located just 2 minutes from high street, and they offer a secure car park. Five-star experience for the price!

The staff were pleasant and helpful giving us all the information needed. The room was clean and had all that was required for our short stay. The bed was comfortable and the room nice and warm. Breakfast was great. Access was easy at anytime.First impression was not so good with all the bins at the bottom of the street to the carpark entrance and it is best to walk up the side of the hotel and ring the front door bell. The coffee machine needs to have some black coffee capsules. These points aside we were happy with our visit and felt it was good value for the price.

Room was very nice and clean , as all areas were, beautiful clean white bed sheets and super fluffy towels . We also had a drink in the bar which was great . We stayed at The Avenue hotel last year and we’re so impressed we stayed again this year. We’ve already booked another 3 day stay in August of next year.It’s a lovely friendly place to stay with a most welcoming feel about it, so would not hesitate to recommend it to others.Being so close to the town centre makes for a very easy walk to numerous restaurants and shops, whilst being away from any noise. Good budget accommodation. We arrived after 10 pm but were told on arrival we should have called if checking in later as there was no official check-in after 10 pm, and that this was clearly stated in the email communications. We did fail to pick up the call from the hotel asking if we were on our way and we're lucky to be able to check in under the circumstances that were explained upon arrival, but just wanted to point out that I could not see any such stipulation on scrutinizing the communications again. Maybe this could be looked into again to avoid confusion in future for late arrivals.

A very friendly hotel in a good location in Grantham. Great there was a car park at the back of the hotel, although there is a tight corner to negotiate. The bar was comfortable and they put the big screen on so we could watch the Olympics while enjoying our evening meal and drink. Food was very good. Our room was comfortable and clean with two large beds. A chair would have been useful. Lovely, helpful staff.

This hotel was in the ideal position for us as a group of bikers, good vehicle parking behind it, twin rooms where large enough for 2 bikers and all our gear but where on the top level so bit of a hike to carrylots of luggage as no lift(we did know thison booking), breakfast was £12 so we used the weatherspoons around the corner which to be fair to the hotel owner did recommend we also had our evening meals round there too, the hosts were excellent. I then stayed on for a couple more nights whilst my friends moved onto a bike meet and camping, I don't do tents so was moved to a lovely large double room as single occupancy which was reasonably priced at £110 for the 2 extra nights.

Marty welcomed us as we came to the hotel and he “was very friendly and super helpful. The rooms are not large but they are comfortable. We didn’t plan on spending our time in our room, so it was perfect for what we needed. Though there is no air conditioning, an open window and the fan gave us the fresh and moving air we needed. Great food in the bar/restaurant downstairs and we recommend splurging on the breakfast which has a wide variety of food, hot and cold.This place has done a great job of keeping the homey, cozy feeling of a hotel from a different age, with modern amenities and welcoming folks. Very clean room, bedding and towels looked brand new and bathroom was immaculate. The staff knew we had a wedding to get to and went out of their way to have our room ready for midday. Would like to say we had a wonderful 1 night stay at the Avenue Hotel Granthamplenty of tea coffee milk etc ,a comfortable bed and a great sleep.only complaint was it was uncomfortable using the toilet and shower without any blinds and curtains at the window. I know the window had frosted glass half way up but it faced onto the vets carpark and with cars arriving while we used the facilities it made it very uncomfortable. That said we enjoyed our stay and are already thinking of coming again in the future so thank you for having us

The room was recently refurbished and clean, the shower, although small was very powerful and lovely and warm. The bed had a 12” deep mattress with crisp white bedding. Only downside was no liftand no ground floor rooms. Also the kitchen was closed for the 2 days we were we there and we only found out when a read a notice on reception when we arrived.

The Avenue is always a welcoming place. Very clean and comfortable and the service from the team there is excellent. The rooms are of a nice quality, always clean and tidy with fresh linen and towels daily. The breakfast is worth the price, a full English with a great selection. I stay at least once a year for a Regimental reunion and should my business require me to stay anywhere in the Grantham area, I would immediately choose to stay at the Avenue Hotel. Martin and Tracey are always ready and happy to help guests with any issues and I have had to ask for a very late check in once, almost midnight, but it wasn't a problem. As an added bonus the car park at the rear is covered by CCTV and is free to guests. I can't think of a better place to stay, and I stay in a lot of hotels for my work.

Hotel Looks nice but didn’t get any sleep whatsoever. Could hear people snore,neighbours tv,could hear people walking upstairs on squeaky floors. But the worst was the drill like noise after other guests use toilet,very loud made me jump at least 10 times at night. Had to use earplugs and still couldn’t sleep. This was my second stay in this hotel,first time could hear everything too but i hoped that second time won’t be as bad and turned out to be even worse. Had exams the next morning and was completely shattered,didn’t sleep at all.Won’t stay again unfortunately.

MY sister's family were show jumping with their horses at the Arena UK and I helped out by being the HGV driver to get their huge new camper/horsebox to the event with my motorbike on board. Never done this before but after strapping the motorbike up and booking this hotel as one of the cheapest in Grantham, all went very well. THe sat nav took me straight to parking around the back of the hotel, motorbike was well hidden away. Walked in through an empty bar late afternoon and collected my keys. I was up on the top floor and the double bed had a TV adn a sink in the room. I had a shared bathroom and toilet on the landing. Everything was very clean, towels and sheets fresh.After changing, back down to the bar for a few pints (very cheap compared wth home!). Then I walked into central town, just 90 seconds away. Around the first corner, statues of famous locals, museum, Weatherspoons for tea and then the cinema.Perfect location, quiet but local to town centre. I was there 2 nights, slept well, drank in the bar both nights. Watched football on a huge projection TV. No meals served on the weekend, but week menu looked good value and lots of local restaurants and take-aways (good Chinese right opposite).Would definately use again!

We have just spent an excellent weekend at the Avenue Hotel, as a party of 6 old friends for our annual reunion. There was nothing to dislike about this hotel; there was a spacious car park at the rear of the hotel; we were warmly welcomed by Tracey and Martin. We enjoyed relaxing and chatting in the bar, the rooms were a good size, and the breakfast was amazing. Walking to the town centre was easy with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Good for visiting the Grantham museum too. Fully recommend this place.

We came to stay overnight at the Avenue Hotel to attend a 70th birthday party 🥳We arrived around 3pm and was directed to our king sized ensuite room to get settled. We unpacked our party outfits and relaxed on the bed with the afternoon sun streaming through the window 😊The room was welcoming, clean and spacious.We slept fitfully in the very comfortable bed, then went down to breakfast before packing our bags and heading home. It was a very chilled out stay and we enjoyed ourselves immensely ☺️

The room was large and we enjoyed having the tea and coffee facilities. Pillows were very soft, I needed a second one for a bit of extra support (spares in the wardrobe). The shower was nice and powerful, and a decent size. No extractor in the bathroom and no openable window, so it did get a bit steamy in there.The room was quiet and very little outside or inside noise.Overall we enjoyed our stay. The roo. Rate seemed expensive compared to food and drink in Grantham, but was at the more affordable end of the market when I was looking for accommodation, so no complaints about that really. The bonus of being able to park for free in the hotel car park was great.

My room had a shared bathroom, which is not ideal but it was clean and respected by the other residents. There was also a separate loo. Room had a sink.Parking is limited and you must register your vehicle at reception. Street parking seemed pretty safe.I didn't get to use the bar or order food. There is a handy Wetherspoons within a 5 minute walk.

Recently stayed in a family room. There was new carpets and furniture. Room was very nice with warm heating comfortable bed and large tv on the wall. Bathroom okay but a little bit dated but did the job. Nice bar area with well priced drinks. Separate breakfast area which was clean and tidy with plenty to eat and drink.It is an old victorian building so it is expected to have seen better days but for the price it was value for money and would stay again.

A warm and friendly welcome. On-site parking and a central location with plenty of shops, restaurant/cafes etc. The room was on the top floor, warm & spacious, noise free and comfortable enough. The shower was luke warm, phoned reception and was sorted quickly and on a second attempt was bliss! Hot, powerful and with sliding doors that sealed well. Efficient key set up for coming and going and all in all for an affordable price.Improvements for me would be a snib on the inside of the bedroom door and an extra blanket or thicker douvet, as was cooler in the night.Many thanks. The Avenue Hotel is a great find. It is convenient to walk to Grantham shops and stations. (bus & rail). My room was clean and comfortable and the shower was brilliant. The car park took a bit of finding as it was tucked away so more directions for that would have been useful.The hotel itself is very tired and in need of decoration throughout.There is no lift, but you could request ground floor bedrooms.The food was good (only had breakfast) but all freshly cooked to order.

Had a great stay here at this lovely hotel. All the staff were very friendly and the owners were brilliant and very helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has everything a traveler would need for your stay. It is central to the main town centre, which was ideal for my personal needs. I stayed over for 3 nights on my own in a single room with shared bathroom. I have to say it was better than I expected. Bathroom was clean at all times and no waiting queue . The bedroom only was missing a desk for someone like as I needed to work on laptop. But otherwise had everything and was clean and comfortable stay. I would choose this again for the need.

I stayed for 3 nights when visiting Grantham. My room was on the 2nd floor, up 2 flights of stairs - on my next stay I would choose a first floor room as there is no lift. However, the hotel is very central, with off road parking. It is clean and comfortable, with free wifi, and reasonably priced. I did not have a meal, so can't comment on catering. The owners are very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

We arrived late and the owner really thought with us how to enter the hotel later. Great service!Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was solid. The kettle switch was a bit reluctant to engage but did after being held in for while. Instructions needed for the coffee machine! I've never used one, so bought a jar and used that. The bathroom system is extremely loud.Anytime someone flushed the toilet you could hear a very loud industrial noise. Not just my own private bathroom. It also went off whenever someone used other bathrooms. It was so loud it kept me awake very late and then woke me at 5am. It continued making a very loud racket the whole stay. For this reason a low score.

I had a nice size double room, but the en-suite bathroom wasn’t very clean and the floor was disgusting. I did complain that the bathroom smelt of urine, and it was cleaned again the next day. The mattress was a bit lumpy and the room smelt of musty lynx spray when I arrived.

Myself and my sisters booked this hotel for a weekend away and didn't expect much for the price but were so pleasantly surprised. Our room was really clean, big enough for 2 and well laid out. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. My sister is gluten free and was really happy to see such a large selection of choices at breakfast. We all ate very well. The hotel has lots of charm and features of the historical building it is whilst remaining impeccably clean and modern. Would definitely stay here again.

Just had a two night stay at this lovely hotel. We had an enjoyable three night stay in a comfortable and well equipped room. Lovely friendly staff!! All of our beds have been updated this last year as we receive constant reviews about the mattress's, but nothing ever compares to you're own! The smell you refer to would be the fact the heat being on the roof it is and the room is under that and heating the traditional materials that the hotel was built with. What a great hotel this is. Martin runs an excellent hotel, everything you could want is here and at a very affordable price. We couldn’t fault anything. Martin is so friendly. We loved the private secure parking and we had an excellent meal for dinner. Our only negative was our room had the hot water pump for a few of the rooms which made a loud whistling sound whenever someone used hot water. The rail strike meant having to request an additional extra overnight stay at the hotel at the beginning of our planned walk along the Grantham Canal. It was two nights well spent. Upon arrival we found our booked double room had an issue so we were allocated a twin bedded room for the first night then upgraded to another room for the second. Very helpful and friendly lady throughout the process from telephone contact to reception upon arrival. We loved the high quality cotton sheets and towels in both rooms. We slept well. All in all a comfortable good price hotel in central Grantham which we recommend.

Stayed for 2 nights over Coronation weekend.Ideal location in centre of town with plentiful free parking. 2 minute walk into centre. Room very clean, hot shower, black out curtains.I found bed comfy my husband didn't, but down to your own preference.Friendly and helpful owner. The room was larger than expected and clean. It was very warm but unlike most hotels it is possible to open the windows. The bed was very comfortable and we heard no noise from downstairs despite visiting on a Saturday night. We regularly stay in Grantham on our way to Norfolk to visit our daughter. This is the first time that we have stayed at the Avenue Hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. We stayed on the second floor and enjoyed a quiet night watching TV before carrying on with our journey to Norfolk the next day. Hotel and room booked by my company. Very nice room (room 17). Was informed it was the second biggest so was very fortunate. Some of the other rooms in the pictures look a lot smaller and I do prefer a ‘roomy’ room, so would certainly request one like this again if I stayed.Large smart tv which I wasn’t expecting so was able to log into steaming services - only criticism of this was that it was slow and at times unresponsive. Could have been the remote control batteries or the Wi-Fi strength? Didn’t render it unusable just slightly irritating.Didn’t use food or bar facilities so couldn’t comment on these but bar looked cosy when walking through it.Lovely welcome at reception by a friendly lady. Ran through everything clearly and helpfully.Overall nice stay and would return either though work or personal use if I was visiting the area for personal reasons.Two potential improvement points from my experience-The alley way could be lit more to access the car park area. Half way down (car park end) was fine but pub end was much darker and took a bit of care navigating it.Secondly, there was a lot of noise from the bar between 9ish and late. I needed to be up for work at 4.30am so I struggled getting to sleep. Other nights ok as starts were later. Maybe some soundproofing between bar and the effected first floor rooms above?Didn’t majorly detract from my enjoyable stay.Thank you for having me!

A very clean and comfortable hotel with every facility catered for - even an ironing board and iron in our room. Wonderful daily room service with lots of tea and coffee provided. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and at the end of a long days sightseeing,if you don't want to go out to seek food, a varied menu is available in the bar. Good quality food too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

What a lovely hidden gem. We were looking for a central location with parking - which it certainly had - and a reasonable price for a one-night stay. I must say, I don't know how they can offer such a good service for the little it cost us. The room was spotless and modern, very comfortable beds and a really good shower. We had a drink in the bar and had the shared platter for two which was enough food for four! The common areas were clean and characterful. I would really recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying again.

Having previously stayed at this hotel with the current owners,we knew what to expect.Welcoming,large spacious rooms,comfortable beds,lovely home cooked breakfast and a large selection of cereals,jams,unlimited tea or coffee and dietary requirements catered for.Car parking is available at the back of the hotel and the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the High Street.We asked if they could cater for a funeral tea for my dad for about 20 and they were able to accommodate this, plus variousdietary requirements. The bar was open too.Would recommend this hotel.Ring them direct.

We have been coming to Grantham for many a year now.We have stayed in other guest houses in and around Grantham. Newer been able to get in the Avenue as usually fully booked.This year we got to stay. No wonder it gets booked up quickly. Great location for us being right in town center.great rooms great staff.no restrictions on your movement come and go as you please.Already waiting for next year's date for our meet up and will be booking straight away to avoid disappointment.In my opinion beast hotel best rates and best staff. From making the booking three days before needed, due to another local hotel cancelling my booking, Martin at The Avenue wad great. So helpful, even with the directions to the carpark. Easy booking in on arrival. Room was clean, big and lovely with an ensuite bathroom. Well equipped with hairdryer to kettle and drink making facilities. Our 4 nights at the hotel was during heatwave therefore very hot, and bedrooms were uncomfortably hot, but as always can't control weather !! Perhaps better , quieter fans would help.moved rooms after 1st night and all our things were transferred to other room for us , so no problem for us.Very good value for money, and our king, deluxe room was well equipped and clean.Enjoyed the bar and choice of drinks, again good prices.Location excellent for town centre and station, also routes in all directions. Lovely place to stay.Private parking available which is a bonus. On arrival was given a warm welcome and booking in was quick and easy. Very pleased with the security of the hotel as to gain entrance you needed a fob. Our room was on the top floor so lots of stairs, but the room was clean,tidy,spacious and beds were comfortable. The room had a large tv and as a bonus had Netflix.Downstairs was a bar and their restaurant,in which we had a freshly prepared cooked breakfast in the morning where you could choose what you wanted from the menu. Complements to the chef!The hotels location is right in the heart of the towns centre so lots of amenities close by.We would definitely recommend this family run hotel and would definitely stay again if in the area 💯👍👍👍👍👍

Well placed in the town center. This is our third booking with Avenue.Very clean. Excellent beds for comfort.No fridge in the room? Mirror location not practical. But we did say we only stayed for one night, on that basis the no fridge is not that serious an issue.The staff is always friendly and helpful, with no fuss.Overall - a good place to stay.

Travelling alone for the first time I was apprehensive, but had no reason to worry. Ideal central location. Hassle free booking in and out. Kettle with tea, coffee, sugar and milk waiting in the room. Room comfortable and clean. Never got to use the Restaurant or Bar as only stayed 1 night. Overall stay very good. Will definitely stay again when next in Grantham and hopefully for longer so we have chance to experience all the hotel has to offer.

The Avenue Hotel is ideally located for the Town Center and a short walk to the Train Station, it also has private parking. My room was spacious and quiet, with a shower/toilet pod. The hotel is well laid out with a 24hr reception. Breakfast was good value and the private bar was well stocked and offered Sky TV.I also found a lovely park that runs along side the river which is ideal for those wishing a bit of fresh air

I've stayed at the Avenue for a number of years for reunions with colleagues and from the time you walk in until the time you leave everything is spot on. I’ve stayed at this hotel 3 times and the owners, Tracy and Martin are great and really friendly and accommodating. The rooms are always very clean, a good size, with all the facilities you need and the location is perfect for our needs. Plus free parking on site.

Nice and clean, good value for money, adequate amenities with a lot of thought gone into needs for a relaxed stay.The bed was a little hard and sagged in the middle (Room 8) and the pillows were not very soft but no complaints otherwise and we would definitely stay there again when needs arise.

Excellent location easy walking distance to find from train station. I had a single room on top floor with a shared (with two other rooms )shower room / toilets were across the landing . It was always clean and tidy and no problems. My room was comfortable and clean. Staff were very helpful and polite. Good value for money.

The hotel seems a bit tired over all certainly not luxurious in any way but for a basic bed for the night its in a great location close to the hight street and it was clean bright and had the basics .They got me nut milk in for my stay the bed was comfortable plenty of pillows nice and warm and a big bath room with enough clean towels.Tea and coffee making facilities and a hair dryer.They did knock and immediatelyenter the room 20 mins before check out saying they though we had checked out already and just missed my partner getting dressed! But over all the staff were nice and friendly and id say it was a good nights sleep with little noise.

We arrived close to 10pm and the receptionist was still so welcoming and friendly. Hotel is in a great location, so central and close to everything! Although we were only there to spend the night, we managed to see a beautiful part of Grantham. The room was very clean and had good amenities. Nice big comfortable bed and bedding. The room was also so spacious. Overall very worth the cost and would definitely stay there again should we find ourselves back in Grantham.

The staff are all helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. Our room was warm and clean with plenty of storage space, clean towels were supplied and the bath towels were big enough to wrap around us (bonus!!). The breakfast was extremely good, lots to choose from: fruit juices, yogurt, cereals and cakes followed by a very well cooked and served breakfast. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel, it was our second stay and won’t be our last

The receptionist was efficient and gave lovely friendly service. The room was clean and spacious. Could not get radiator to work in bedroom but the room was reasonably warm without it. Only supplied with one set of towels for two of us but we were only there for one night so wasn’t a problem for that reason.On the whole it was a pleasant stay and we would use the hotel again.
